The most insane and immensely exciting marketing event of famous home décor magazine "House Beautiful" is on its way again. The "Chair Dropping" activity will start from Wednesday, March 6, 2013.
House Beautiful's tradition of dropping chairs in the middle of a city has become an annual trend. The magazine picks up a theme and designs chairs around the idea. It later drops off the designer furniture in the oddest places in a chosen city of the country. Clues are posted on their Twitter and Facebook pages to followers. Whoever finds and takes the seat first gets to take the chair home!
Though the locations have yet to be revealed, the magazine has announced the date and city of the activity. This time, House Beautiful is celebrating its annual color issue in March. It will be dropping 20 black-and white chairs in unknown locations in Los Angeles this time, reports Curbed.
While the color for 2010 was Blue, in 2012, House Beautiful picked up the "green" theme. The magazine seemed to be obsessed with the color and decided to drop off green colored chairs in Washington D.C.
House Beautiful has been a survivor in the competitive and ruthless world of home décor magazines. The monthly décor journal has other interesting contests. Its annual "kitchen of the year" activity is a very popular event.
