The "Gotham" stars have taken their on-screen romance to real life! Benjamin Mckenzie and Morena Baccarin are finally confirmed to be a couple, as they graced the red carpet at the recently concluded 2015 Emmy Awards.
A source has confirmed their relationship to People. The true state of their relationship has been up in the air since they have been spotted prior the awards show at several events. Additionally, the reel-to-real couple was also seen holding hands at an Emmys afterparty. The actress recently just filed for divorce from her husband of three and a half years, Austin Chick, due to irreconcilable differences.
E! Online reports that "Gotham" isn't the first show that they've worked together in. Baccarin shared that she actually guest starred in former cult hit "The OC," where Mckenzie played one of the leads. When the actress recalled this, Mckenzie allegedly didn't remember her appearance, so he just decided to play along for the cameras.
Meanwhile, what can "Gotham" fans expect from its second season? Entertainment Weekly reports that there will be all-new villains, but Mckenzie assured fans that Season 2 will be more of what the fans want.
Maintaining that he's still very much pleased with how the first season came about, he explained to the publication, he said, "I think we made a mistake relatively early on in trying to introduce a villain and take care of that villain in one episode: catch them, send them to Arkham, do whatever." He then stressed that the makers of the show should not have done so. He also shared that the upcoming season will focus more on seeing the villains as people, and will lead viewers into thinking if they really are good or evil.
The Season 2 of "Gotham" premiered yesterday on FOX.
