'Criminal Minds' Season 11 Cast & Premiere Date: 'NCIS' & ' The Mentalist' Stars Join The Show To Help Solve Crimes

The Behavioral Analysis Unit will need the help of some stars from other crime series in their search for serial killers as "Criminal Minds" returns for Season 11 next week.

According to Gospel Herald, "NCIS" and "The Mentalist" stars will be the new addition to the group to help them solve crimes.

According to the site, "NCIS" star Marisol Nichols will be joining the show as Natalie Colfax. It was reported that the character is an FBI agent who will be working closely with the characters Aaron "Hotch" Hotchner (Thomas Gibson), David Rossi (Joe Manganello), Spencer Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler), Derek Morgan (Shemar Moore) and Penelope Garcia (Kirsten Vangsness).

Aside from Nichols, "The Mentalist" star Tim Kang will also be appearing on the show as Charlie Senerak. Charlie is a medical supply worker who the unit believes has a vital role in a pending investigation. It was also earlier reported that Aisha Tyler will be joining the cast as Dr. Tara Lewis who is a forensic psychologist. According to the site, one of the character's jobs is to interview serial killers to determine whether or not the suspects are fit to stand in trial.

Meanwhile, International Business Times reports that the unit will be working on an investigation of a group of assassins in Season 11. It was earlier reported that the group called "The Dirty Dozen," which is a network of assassins or hitmen, will be the major thing the BAU will investigate in the first part of the season.

Showrunner Erica Messer revealed that this story won't be featured in one episode only and that the plot might culminate by the end of the season. He added that Season 11 will be more serialized, and he promised a more action-packed and suspense-filled season for the fans.

"Criminal Minds" Season 11 will air on CBS on September 30.
