'The Affair' Season 2 Date & Spoilers: Cole Shows His Dangerous Side; Hellen More Threatening Than Expected

Noah (Dominic West) and Alison's (Ruth Wilson) illicit relationship will be more complicated than they expected as "The Affair" returns on Showtime for Season 2.

It was earlier reported that couple's respective spouses will be appearing in the new season. In the earlier report, it was revealed that the story will involve some of the point of views of Noah and Alison's spouses.

According to Christian Today, Cole's (Joshua Jackson) depression will start when he discovers his wife's infidelity and this will turn him into a dangerous man. In the new promotional video for Season 2 revealed by Showtime, Cole shows his dangerous side and he will lose his sanity more and more, leaving Allison fearing for her life. In the video, Cole can be seen holding a gun while taking someone hostage.

Jackson talked about his character in the show, describing Cole as "sort of empty." He revealed that Allison fears Cole now more than ever, and there will be a part of the show where Cole will transform into a violent person who will be doing something very aggressive.

Meanwhile, Noah will also be dealing with his wife Helen (Maura Tierney). Helen will also show her own misery as the show returns for Season 2. Tierney revealed that despite the problems in their family, her character will still try to remain strong for the sake of their children. However, Tierney revealed that being a mom and a daughter and going to work at the same time will be very hard for Helen, but she will not give any reason for her husband to pity her.

Insquisitr reports that Noah will start seeing Helen more of a threat as the story progresses. Tierney said that Noah will see her as a colder and much more condescending person. She added that Helen will be belittling Noah's work and does not really understand what her husband needs.

"The Affair" Season 2 will premiere on October 4.
