Asus has just released their newest phone and it's going to take the whole selfie game to the next level. Called the Zenfone Selfie, it comes in baby pink, light blue, and white -- clearly, it's targeted for the cute girly girls, or boys, who are just as selfie-obsessed.
Here's why the Zenfone Selfie has an advantage compared with other smartphones: Asus has smartly put cameras and dual-tone flashes on both the front and back sides. The soon-to-be-released iPhone 6s and 6s Plus have announced the same feature, but Asus beats Apple in the megapixel division. The iPhone 6s will only have 12 megapixels, while the Zenfone Selfie has 13.
According to a user review on Mashable, the front-facing camera has built-in tricks to "beautify" you. With just a few setting changes, the camera can either make your eyes look bigger, your skin fairer, or your face slimmer. Asus, being a Taiwanese brand, knows that theses features are particularly popular among the Asian market.
There is also a strategically-placed button on the back of the phone so you can take pictures faster than you can holler "selfie!" The button makes it more convenient to snap while holding both your phone and your pose.
Going from rest mode to selfie mode is also made easy. Simply drawing an "S" on the screen unlocks the phone and automatically opens the front camera. The rear camera has a laser-autofocus and a macro-mode, so you can get your face as close as 6cm away, or snap the perfect food shot for your Instagram account.
If you're with your friends, its 88-degree wide-angle lens allows you to take a "groufie," capturing panoramic selfies of up to 140 degrees.
Others specs include a 5.5 inch touchscreen display and a 1.5 Ghz octa-core.
The Asus Zenfone Selfie sells for $283.
