"The Big Bang Theory" season 9 kicked off with a bang as Penny [Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting] and Leonard [Johnny Galecki] tied the knot. As per US Magazine, TBBT season 9 premiere showed the couple were on their way to a Las Vegas wedding, when Leonard confessed kissing another woman while he was drunk during an expedition a few years back.
The confession may have happened; it didn't however stop them from getting hitched. Though they tied the knot, Penny couldn't seem to get the thought of Leonard's cheating off her mind. Her husband however did his best in making her feel better. He may have consoled her, by making her feel how guilty he was. Upon doing so, he accidentally revealed that the woman he kissed was one of Penny's co-workers whom she sees regularly.
Due to what happened, the couple was not able to enjoy their honeymoon as it was cut short. The couple returned home and went to their separate apartments.
The Hollywood Reporter was then able to dish out some major spoilers on "The Big Bang Theory" season 9 during an interview with both the producer and the actor Steve Molaro and Johnny Galecki.
The wedding has been eight seasons in the making. What was being on set for that scene like?
Molaro: It was great. It's a rocky episode for them but I wanted to make sure that the actual wedding moment was satisfying, sweet and lovely, which I think it was. We were all pretty happy with how it turned out - especially with Penny's vows. Kaley did a great job with them. I was so excited about that scene and she came through and more.
Galecki: It was emotional. I love both of these characters, as Kaley does, and we're very protective of them. We're their biggest fans and we've been rooting for them for a long time and it was time to pull the trigger after talking about it for so long.
