Dorothy Hamill Olympic Figure Skater to Join 'Dancing with the Stars'

Dorothy Hamill, the Olypmpic Gold Medal figure skater winner, will be joining the all star cast of "Dancing with the Stars" season 16, ABC announced Tuesday in Los Angeles.

Hamill won the Gold medal at the 1976 Winter Games in Innsbruck, Austria at the age of 19. Hamill, 56, will have Irish dancing star Tristan MacManus as a partner.

Dorothy Hamill will be joining Alexandra Raisman who was the captain for the U.S. Women's Gymnastics Team at the 2012 Olympic games. She was the first ever American to win a Gold medal in the floor exercise and also won a bronze on the balance beam.

The cast was announced on "Good Morning America," and some of the other celebrities include country music legend Wynonna Judd, former "Idol" finalist Kellie Pickler, reality TV star Lisa Vanderpump and NFL star Jacoby Jones. Comedians D.L. Hughley and Andy Dick, as well as "General Hospital" star Ingo Rademacher, and Disney star Zendaya Coleman will be joining the reality dancing competition.

The new season of "Dancing with the Stars" is slated to debut with a two-hour premiere on Monday, March 18 at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT on ABC.
