‘Spider-Man’ 2017 Update: Director Calls Tom Holland the Perfect Peter Parker

Rumor was heard that Tom Holland's Spider-Man has been an active superhero for over a year after he was first seen in Captain America: Civil War. Director Jon Watts talked more about the iconic Marvel superhero's origin, and he explains why he thinks Tom Holland is the perfect Peter Parker.

According to Movie Web, when Peter Parker enters Marvel and Sony's 2017 reboot, he will be 15 years old that time and that puts him at 14 years old when he first appeared in Captain America: Civil War. If the recent rumors are true about the storyline of both films, the timeline sees Peter having been bitten by the radioactive spider when he was just 13 years old. When Spider-Man steps on screen, he will face off against Captain America in what is called one of the greatest, geekiest fights to ever happen in the movie.

Tom Holland was 19 years old when he played the role of the 14-year-old Peter Parker in Captain America: Civil War. He was chosen because of his boyish good looks and charming personality.

Variety news said that Sony Pictures Entertainment has announced a new partnership with Marvel Studios that will bring the popular superhero, "Spider-Man'' into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Sony owned the feature rights to the comic book character since 1999, when it was sold to them for $7 million by Marvel. Sony will continue to distribute, finance, own and have the final control of the Spider-Man pictures.

Kevin Feige, Marvel Studios' President, excitedly stated that he was thrilled along with his friends at Sony Pictures and along with Amy Pascal, to produce the next Spider-Man movie.

Disney has rescheduled a number of Marvel movies, including "Thor: Ragnarok,'' which was planned to open July 28, 2017 and was moved to Nov. 3, 2017. "Black Panther,'' which was scheduled on Nov. 3, will now be moved early to July 6, 2017. Such moves were made to make room for Spider-Man, which will hit theaters on July 28, 2017.
