Correction: A previous version of this article published on Feb. 28, 2013, incorrectly stated that Mr. Wayne Lau purchased a home auctioned by Cher via Concierge Auctions in 2010 for $8.7 million. He was a bidder in the auction, but was not the ultimate buyer.
A secluded property called the "Hale Ku Mana" or "The House of Spiritual Healing" in the famous Hualalai resort on the Gold Coast of Big Island, Hawaii, will be auctioned Monday, March 18, by Concierge Auctions, a major property auctioning firm in the country. The home belongs to financier, Wayne Lau, who had the property listed for $18.5 million before being put it up for auction. No minimum bid is required to participate in the auction.
The residence is a 5400 square feet place sitting on a 1.33 acre lot. The place has six ponds, a saltwater resort-style pool and offers extensive views of the ocean. The home comprises of five bedrooms and five full and one half bathroom. Specialists were hired to tend to the extravagant greens planted in the open-air bathrooms, reports Wall Street Journal.
The place also has a gourmet kitchen and a spacious lanai (veranda) which could easily accommodate around 120 guests. The master suite has a water closet and walk-in wardrobes. Two floating vanities and an outdoor grill also exist on the property. Featuring custom-made furniture and exquisite Balinese antiquities, the place offers the perfect living experience, reports CNBC.
"It's completely private, the landscaping is immaculate and each of the five bedrooms is a master suite, four of which have ocean views, which is rare. It truly is a one-of-a-kind home that requires an equally unique buyer on auction day." Beverly Molfino, Realtor at Hawaii Life, said in a statement to Business Journal.
The Hualalai Resort estate is beautiful and a prime tourist attraction. Members of the exclusive Hualalai club get to experience luxury amenities of the resort like spa, golf course, water sports and dining services and clubhouse stays.
"The Hualalai Resort is without a doubt one of the most breathtaking communities in Hawaii, and Hale Ku Mana is one it of its crown jewels. Ever since our initial sales in Hualalai in 2009 and 2010, we have watched this property with awe through its planning and construction." Laura Brady, president of Concierge Auction, said to PR Newswire.
"Hawaii has fully embraced our auction process for the transfer of many of the state's most premier properties, as evidenced by our 24 sales on the islands in just the last few years. With two other auctions upcoming in March - another on Kona and one on Oahu - we are excited to have an assortment of opportunities for buyers to choose from." she added.
