We got the scoop from E Online and according to their article, Mendes and Cabello met on the 2014 tour of Austin Mahone and Cabello's girl group "Fifth Harmony." Also it was reported that the two have been friends for quite some time now before becoming a couple.
Cabello said in the article, "While we were on tour Austin and I were dating and Shawn was just kind of being a loner!" And the 18-year-old also said, "Yeah he was so jealous and he couldn't come out on stage because he was just seething rage and crying blood."
Apart from this, E Online also said of the photobombing incident that Mendes did candidly while his gf Cabello was taking a press photo on the recently held iHeart Radio Music Festival where both of them attended.
