Forbes Travel Guide Announces Winners of 2013 Star Awards

In celebration of its 55th Annual rating anniversary, Forbes revealed the winners of its 2013 Star Awards. Forbes gave away 27 new five-star awards, 75 new four-star awards and 30 new 'recommended property' awards for the year.

Inspectors at Forbes visited hotels, spas and restaurants in regions of North America, Singapore and China and rated the properties on the basis of amenities, service, quality and facilities.

Given Below is the list of Forbes Travel Guide's "Most Elite Five-star Winners"

Montage Laguna Beach, California

This is the first five-star award for Montage Laguna Beach which is also celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. The resort provides stylish rooms and full suites that feature arts-and-crafts style design with stone and wood exteriors. They offer cozy villa living, a 20 treatment room spa, lap pools, fitness areas and beautiful ocean-front views. The resort received a five- star designation for its exquisite location.

The Grand Del Mar, San Diego

Located in a secluded place of the Los Peñasquitos Canyon Preserve community of Del mar, San Diego, the Grand Del Mar is a palatial Mediterranean style resort inspired by the works of starchitect, Addison Mizner. Its stretching golf course, gourmet kitchens and lavish amenities have earned the resort three five star designations for its lodging, Spa and its restaurant - Addison.

The Broadmoor, Colorado springs

The Broadmoor resort has maintained its five-star status since 1960; making it the longest any resort maintained its style. Engulfed by the Cheyenne Lake and sitting at the foot of the Rocky Mountains, the resort is an all season paradise. The resort features three large championship golf courses, tennis club, boating, horse-riding, world class restaurants, shops and spa. The resort received two five star designations for its Spa and the Penrose Room Restaurant.

Mandarin Oriental, Miami

The Mandarin Oriental in Miami earned its debut five-star award in 2013. The hotel sits on the small man-made island, Brickell Key and offers the best views of both Biscayne bay and the skyline of Miami. The 326 room hotel provides luxury services including a swanky bar and a Chinese style emporium. The hotel has earned three five star designations for its lodging, the spa and its restaurant - Azul.

The Cloister, Sea Island, Georgia

The Cloister Resort has been designated with four five stars by Forbes for its lodge, The Georgia Room, the spa and the hotel. Sporting Spanish revival architecture, the resort provides for various activities like horse-riding, squash courts and golf courses. It also has a special yacht club that offers sunset cruise travels.
