Fashion Guru Derek Lam Lists SoHo Condo for $6 Million

The famous California-based fashion designer, Derek Lam has listed his condo in the SoHo neighborhood of New York for a cool $6 million. Lam and his partner, Jan-Hendrik Schlottmann, who serves as the CEO of Derek Lam international, purchased the property in 2011 for $4.6 million.

The floor planning provided by Curbed shows that the double floor condo is located in the fifth floor of the Mercer Greene Building. The home spreads across an area of 2,200 square feet and features 12-foot ceilings and hardwood flooring. The residence has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.

The lower level is accessed by a private elevator opening into the formal living/dining room. A modern kitchen lies adjacent to the living room. A narrow corridor leads to a slightly lowered unit comprising two bedrooms and bathrooms.

The upper level consists of a library and a huge master suite that comprises of massive walk-in closets and an attached modern bathroom with a spa like tub.

The building itself offers luxury amenities that requires a monthly maintenance fee. The building has been home to many other celebrities. Apparently, Rihanna was renting a condo unit for around $18,000 a month, reports The Real deal.

Lam is a renowned fashion designer. He is also a talented interior designer. He designed the green room for the Emmys in 2012.

At the New York fashion Week, Lam's Fall/Winter collection for 2013-14 was featured.
