Sherlock's (Jonny Lee Miller) father will cause a lot of trouble in the upcoming Season 4 of "Elementary."
According to Christian Post, John Noble was cast as Morland Holmes who will be coming to New York City to deal with his son's addiction problem. It can be recalled that in the Season 3 finale, Sherlock went back to his drug addiction.
However, Sherlock will not be pleased with his father being around. According to executive producer Rob Doherty, Sherlock will not appreciate his father's presence, as he will take it as a distraction. He added that Sherlock thinks that it is too late for them to renew their relationship given their very complicated history. Doherty revealed that in the season opener, viewers will see how Sherlock becomes indifferent to his father, with a number of "icy exchanges" between the two.
However, things will be different when it comes to Joan Watson (Lucy Liu), as she will see Sherlock's father as a kind man. Sherlock will then warn her that it could just be a mask and that she should be very careful around him. It was said in the report that throughout the show, Morland Holmes will be revealing his darker side, which will surely shock the viewers.
Doherty added that when Watson meets Morland, there will be friction at first, but this will reportedly change when Morland makes a genuine and surprising move to help Sherlock. Watson will then realize what Sherlock may be talking about since Morland seems to be different from how Sherlock described him.
Meanwhile, in a separate report, Christian Post said that the promotional video of the TV series released previously shows Sherlock and Watson thinking of ways how the former can avoid being locked up after giving his testimony in the precinct.
"Elementary" Season 4 will air on November 5.
