BioMed Realty Trust For Sale?

The BioMed Realty Trust is now in the process of selling itself. As for the reason of the sale, it hasn't been fully disclosed.

BioMed Realty Trust Inc (BMR.N), is a real estate investment trust for biotechnology companies. Its decision for the sell has fascinated interest from private equity firm Blackstone Group LP (BX.N). According to a recent post published by Reuters, "The Company was founded in 2004; the San Diego-based BioMed has a market value of $3.9 billion and is working with Morgan Stanley (MS.N) on a potential deal."

Although there is a deal brewing on the horizon, the decision is still indefinite. The talks are ongoing and there is no guarantee a deal will be finalized, as was further disclosed by Yahoo Finance. The company has been dealing with a lot of obstacles lately in terms of investment returns.

BioMed Realty Trust is focused on their investment efforts particularly on life science and biotech properties in the seven core U.S. life science markets of Boston, San Francisco, San Diego, Maryland, New York/New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Seattle.

The company also has research parks near or adjacent to universities. These markets have developed as main hubs for exploration and development and making in the life science industry. The company has reputations for scientific brilliance, and is often related with an awareness of academic cores.

The company was built together with a small team of visionaries, Alan Gold and Gary Kreitzer. These individuals have identified the break to apply an institutional investment focus to the underserved life science sector of the real estate industry. In 1989, Alan Gold formed Goldstone Real Estate Finance and Investments and established the business model for institutional ownership of office and laboratory space for the life science industry, as divulged by the company's Official Website.

The three main parties which are BioMed, Blackstone and Morgan Stanley, could not be reached for comments as of the moment.
