"The Simpsons" creator Matt Groening recently had a verbal altercation with one of his neighbors at his Santa Monica, California home, since the neighbor cut down 100-year old pine trees for the construction of their parking lot.
TMZ reports that the animator explained that the trees were on protected property and should not have been cut down mercilessly.
Groening, along with his other enraged neighbors, have taken the responsibility of stopping the other neighbor of cutting down more trees. The source also shares that one has taken it to the extremes by tying himself on a tree!
Former Santa Monica mayor Bobby Shriver, who protested the tree cutting to the city of Los Angeles, also joined them. Shriver's wife Malissa found out that the trees were apparently on the border of Los Angeles and Santa Monica, so they immediately asked for help.
The city of Los Angeles ended up ordering the tree-murdering neighbor to halt all plans of cutting even more trees in the said area. They have yet to figure out if the neighbor really does have a right to cut down the trees for her very important parking lot. As of late, two precious trees have already been taken down.
According to Daily Mail, Matt Groening bought the mansion at $11.7 million back in 2011. It has tennis courts, a swimming pool, and is on a lot that's almost half-an-acre large. The home also boasts a lovely view of the Pacific Ocean. The twelve-time Primetime Emmy winner has an estimated net worth of $500 million.
