2016 Angry Birds The Movie Official Trailer Release: Watch Your Favorite Self-Destructive Birds in Action

The hit downloadable mobile gaming app 'Angry Birds' is setting up its slingshot to catapult their awesomeness from mobile and tablet screens into the world of big screens.

The movie adaptation of the game that has garnered an estimated three billion downloads since its release in 2009, is gearing up to make an appearance in theaters on May 2016.

The story line will circle among the group of friends who share a common thing, they are all misfits in the society they live in. The first official trailer released gave us a glimpse of the animated movie, and boy they sure are angry.

The movie will mostly follow the game but the trailer doesn't reveal to us anything about any plot twist that may occur, but the special 'skills' of our favorite birds are still there. The trailer also revealed to us the three main characters: Red, Chuck, and Bomb.

Red is being voiced over by Jason Sudeikis. He has anger management issues and can get real mad over simple things. Chuck, voiced by Josh Gad, is a hyperactive yellow bird, while Bomb, as the name implies, literally explodes when he has strong emotions. Bomb is being voiced by Danny McBride.

The trailer also shows us the arrival of the green pigs in the island of the flightless birds. The pigs are seen as quirky engineers capable of building modern things using woods and metals.

The movie also has a couple of big names to join their ranks. Besides Sudeikis, Gad, and McBride, big names like Maya Rudolph ('Bridesmaids'), Kate McKinnon ('Ghostbusters'), Bill Hader ('Inside Out'), Peter Dinkage ('Game of Thrones'), Keegan-Michael Key ('Key and Peele'), Tony Hale ('Arrested Development'), Ike Barinholtz ('The Mindy Project'), and many more recognizable names will give life and color to the animated film.

One more thing, remember that eagle you need to pay to get in the game? Well, he's loitering around and can be seen for free!
