HTC will be holding an event on September 29 and it was said that two gadgets will be debuted at the said occasion. The "Butterfly 3" and the "One A9" are the rumored gadgets to be present on the 29th. However, according to some leaks, this may only correct in partiality as the "One A9" is not yet a sure thing, at least not by September 29.
The "Butterfly 3" is said to be announced at the event, but the "One A9" may not be given the spotlight just yet. Instead, a "One M9+" might take the stage. It will be an updated phone that HTC will introduce to us, but no one has any info yet as to what the improvements this phone actually brings. The comparison of the "One M9+" to the previous release is yet to be shared. However, there are leaks that say that the "One M9+" will have better camera with OIS and improved focusing.
The "Butterfly 3" on the other hand, will apparently only be released in the Chinese market. It is also rumored that it will be based on "J Butterfly", it wasn't however mentioned which "J Butterfly" it was based on as there were 2 this year.
Moving forward, the "One A9" has always been thought to be the company's next flagship phone. But it is said that this device will be official in October at a multi city event, which will be a major tech event in the US. All these rumors are only based on whatever minor news HTC announces, but if the "One A9" is one of HTC's high end flagships, it just makes sense that it gets a bigger event for its launch, with no other phones to share the limelight with.
As to "One A9"'s spec leaks, it is most likely to come with the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 SoC. It may also have a 5 inch 1080p touchscreen with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB expandable storage. It will probably carry a 13 MP back camera with OIS and a 4 MP UltraPixer front camera. Additional leaks suggest that One A9 will have a 2150 mAh battery and it will also have a fingerprint sensor. As to the OS, the most possible Android version this phone will carry would be the 6.0 Marshmallow. As for the cost, no details have been shared yet. But it will most likely be in the more expensive bracket.
