Jessica Chastain is Renting Out Her Greenwich Village Apartment

In her blog post in Zillow, Melissa Allison shared that Jessica Chastain, who recently settled into the former duplex of Leonard Bernstein, has placed her old apartment on the rental market for $11,500 a month.

Whoever will rent the former unit of the critically acclaimed and two-time Oscar nominated actress, will enjoy a renovated and fully-furnished two-bedroom and two-bath residence. Located at 250 Mercer St., Greenwich Village, the apartment is just a couple of blocks away from Washington Square Park. Included in its furnishings are a Sonos sound and entertainment system, a 65-inch flat screen television with 3D capabilities, so that the new tenant can save money for the move-in costs.

The first floor features a 10-foot-5-inch ceiling, a dining area that can seat six persons, a 316-square-foot living room which comes with a wood-burning fireplace, and a kitchen fit for a chef with its high-end appliances. It also has a wide, circular staircase leading to a skylit landing on the upper floor. The second floor boasts of an 11 feet high ceiling and a master bedroom with a walk-in cedar closet, a dressing area, and a great view of the city. Its master bathroom has a full-length, designer, soaking tub and a separate shower.

The listing by Chris Pomeroy of Halsted Property says the apartment is "the perfect place to call home without needing to bring anything more than your toothbrush and favorite clothing."

Chastain acquired the apartment in 2012 for $1.2 million. It was on the list March of this year when she and her fashion executive boyfriend, Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo, upgraded to a $5.1 million pad at The Osborne on W. 57th St., across Carnegie Hall. It is a light filled four-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bath home. The duplex, which has a total size of 3,200 square feet, has five fireplaces, an intricate wrought iron staircase, and hand-carved mahogany doors. It likewise has two public rooms with parquet floors, oversized windows along the bay, 14-foot ceilings, a library, a formal dining room, and a kitchen which was just featured in the New York Magazine.
