All Apple users, particular iPhone users, know that it's only a matter of time before you brand new, shiny iPhone will be replaced with a newer model with updated features. Analysts are predicting that this may be happening in August this year with the roll out of not one, but two models of the iPhone.
Pipper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster predicts that Apple will release an iPhone model, dubbed the iPhone 5S, with minor updates from the previous model. Apple is also rallying to catch up to its Android counterparts in the Chinese and Indian market and will do that by introducing a cheaper iPhone at around the $199 price point in a bid to become more competitive in these booming economies.
According to a report from AppleInsider, the iPhone 5S is expected to be a "world phone," meaning it will be compatible with frequencies for most LTE networks, including China Mobile. iPhone 5, conversely, requires different models for different LTE networks.
KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicts that Apple will release a number of new products across its various product lines in the second half of the year. Together with the iPhone 5S, Kuo predicts that there are several new laptops and desktops, a new iPad and the iPad mini 2, which will boast a Retina display.
Apple has yet to confirm these rumors, and it's likely the ultra secretive company won't until the day they officially unveil any or all of the new rumored products.
