'Agent Carter' Series Updates: 'Peggy Carter' Will Return to your Small Screens!

Good news, Agent Carter fans. The fierce Peggy Carter is coming back for season 2 in 2016 with ten episodes.

Agent Carter debuted in January this year and it ran through February. According to Master Herald, first season of Agent Carter only had eight episodes. It was said that despite its declining ratings, the show got positive response from the audience so the show was renewed by ABC and this time it will have 2 additional episodes. Rumors say that Agent Carter 2 will premiere early next year.

UK fans will be sharing the good news. According to Digital Spy, Fox UK was able to pick up rights to running the second season of Agent Carter. As previously said, the show had declining viewership in the US, surpisingly it had a bigger fan base in the UK. Digital Spy quotes what FOX International Channels UK managing director Jeff Ford had said, "Marvel's Agent Carter was a ratings smash for FOX UK, with a million people tuning in to Peggy Carter's adventures on launch. We're thrilled to bring the season two premiere to UK fans, and can't wait to see what's in store for the feisty and fearless heroine."

Hayley Atwell will reprise her role as Peggy Carter in the second season together with James D'Arcy (Edwin Jarvis), Enver Gjokaj (Daniel Sousa) and Chad Michael Murray (Jack Thompson). And for those who have not yet seen season one of Agent Carter, Peggy Carter is the first love interest of Steve Rogers a.k.a. Captain America. Moreover, according to Master Herald, In the Captain America movies Peggy Carter was played by Atwell and when Marvel decided to bring Agent Carter to Television, they had their eyes on her. This show is about Peggy Carter and her ordeals to balance her life being a secret agent and a single woman in 1940s America.
