'Mistresses' Season 4 News: Producers Say Third Season Finale Unsatisfying; Show Renewal Still Uncertain

A question is being raised whether a sequel will occur for "Mistresses." It appears that more speculations have arisen due to the rumors of the way the Season 3 ended as well as the finale episode of "Mistresses" for Season 3.

Indeed, it was an unexpected finale episode that has left a lot of fans on a thread. It has been three weeks since the finale ended for the "Mistresses" but there hasn't been any word from the show runners of a Season 4. The Christian Today reports that even the showrunners, Rina Mimoun and KJ Steinberg, have no idea if the show has already met its end because if they did, the duo says "we would have chosen a different way to close it out."

It is indeed a mystery since ABC has remained silent of the future of the "Mistresses." The TV Line disclosed that the two deliberated regarding "softening" the conclusion of the third season, but they ultimately decided in contradiction of it because it would feel "unsatisfying." The showrunners have also declared if it was definite that there won't be a Season 4.

They would have provided the answer to the cliffhangers that they revealed in the Season 3 finale. The showrunners also declared that they would have made the said episode, where Wilson had Joss at gunpoint, the ultimate one, and allotted a finale where it all gets wrapped up, as further reported by TV Line.

It is not final yet that there will not be a Season 4. However, some are still hoping for a possibility of Season 4 to be aired. Mimoun said, "I don't think we're dead in the water. But I don't know that we're not. We haven't gotten any strong indications of a renewal but they haven't told us it's over."
