Mel B, the former "Spice Girls" singer did not have a great first day at work as a judge on the new season of "America's Got Talent."
According to TMZ, Mel B got booed by the audience at the auditions in New Orleans, which took place yesterday. The report says the audience turned on Melanie Brown after she told a popular New Orleans brass band, Lagniappe, that she doesn't like brass music. The crowd reportedly yelled things at her like "go home" and "no respect."
According to TMZ, Brown then leaned toward fellow judge, Howie Mandel, for comfort. Joining her in the judges seat are Howard Stern and another new-comer, supermodel Heidi Klum.
Mel B, who is a regular on Twitter, made no comments about the booing on her Twitter account. Her only post from Monday's auditions was a photo of the set captioned, "Here we go!!"
Lagniappe Brass Band consists of seven musicians and has logged 250-plus shows a year both nationally and internationally. The name "lagniappe" is a Cajun-French term meaning, "something given or obtained gratuitously or by way of good measure," according to the band's site.
