Rich Doyle, chief executive of Harpoon Brewery, has purchased a plush estate worth $4.3 million on Nantucket Island in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. The home was originally listed for $7.9 million but was price chopped to $5.8 million. However, it has now sold for $1.5 million lesser.
Doyle and his family will be using the home as a summer vacation venue. Built in 1988, the private waterfront estate offers stunning views of the Sesachacha pond, the Atlantic Ocean horizon and the Sankaty Lighthouse as well, reports Curbed.
According to the listing details in Link, the home is located through the tunnel hedge off the Quidnet Road. The single family home lies on a 1.97 acre lot. The main unit is a 5107 square feet centerpiece comprising of three bedrooms and three full and two half bathrooms. The double story home has a total of six rooms.
A stone walkway leads to the entrance of the home. A covered porch opens through the front door into a large living room that has a fireplace and large windows with picturesque views of the pond. A modern kitchen with a dining area gives access to the airy decks. The master suite, a guest bedroom and a laundry room complete the first floor.
The second floor can be reached by a sweeping staircase that leads right to a sitting area. On the west side of the house, another private deck offers ample outdoor space and water views. There is a large studio with another private deck.
Outside, the home offers lush green landscaped lawns, a tennis court, a two-car parking garage and an outdoor shower as well.
The deal was sealed on Feb 15. 2013 and also includes the trading of two other properties at 5 Sakedan Lane and 3 Nauuma lane. All the properties including the waterfront vacation home belong to a trust fund of which Doyle and his wife Kate are trustees, reports the Inquirer and Mirror.
The Boston-based Harpoon Brewery received a $3.5 million financing in 2012 for expanding the visitor center and opening a beer hall. The center opened in January 2013.
