If you have been dreaming to step into the realm of virtual reality, but is impeded by the prices of these devices, then Samsung might have just solved your problem. Samsung is promising an ultimate fascinating viewing experience that is beyond imagination, and a simpler way to enjoy immersive experience-- all with their new 'Gear VR'. Samsung's final Gear VR, which was revealed recently, comes with a price of just $99 according to Samsung SVP of Technology Strategy, Peter Koo.
The said competitive price of Samsung Gear VR was announced by Koo at the Oculus Connect keynote last Thursday. The new virtual reality device coming from Samsung boasts of its light weight, which is considerably 22% lighter than the "Innovator Edition." Samsung's Gear VR was also redesigned in order to give way for a "top head strap and a smarter design for the side-mounted touchpad, with a directional pad-shaped indentation that should make blindly operating the controls more convenient," said mashable.
Perhaps one of the most likeable features of this new Gear VR, aside from its $99 starting price, is the wide array of devices that the VR may support. According to the Samsung, Gear VR works with the entire 2015 Samsung smartphone lines, which would include Edge Plus, S6, S6 Edge and the latest Note 5.
Oculus, a partnered company that worked on the virtual reality tech inside the Gear VR, also announced that they have partnered with game publishers like Sega, Warner Bros. and Namco for expanded choice of games. And through Oculus Video, Gear VR users would be able to enjoy tons of 360 videos. Such choices of movies and TV series was made possible after Oculus' boss, Brendan Iribe, revealed its partnership with major entertainment studios like 20th Century Fox and Lionsgate, along with the on-demand Internet streaming media provider, Netflix.
With these latest innovations, expansions, and reasonable pricetag of Samsung's Gear VR, consumers would likely anticipate its release.
