With Apple's nearing official release of its latest iPhones, more and more people are camping outside Apple stores worldwide. But in Australia, attentions are being caught not only by a man who has been camping for 17 days outside an Apple store, but primarily because of a robot that has been waiting in the long queue since Thursday. Yup, robots are beginning to conquer our world, and they are starting their quest by joining in line for a new iPhone. (Click for Robot Image)
Instead of waiting in line and be exhausted, Lucy Kelly followed his boss' advice and employed the help of a robot to join the line for a new iPhone in George Street, Australia.
"Obviously because of work I can't spend two days standing in line waiting for a mobile phone. So my boss said 'Just take the robot down, you'll still be able to do your work, but you'll still be waiting in line," she told Mashable.
The robot, which happened to be called Lucy as well, is waiting in line so that Kelly could continue her work. According to mashable, the robot arrived at the Apple Store on George Street at around 5:00 AM just this Thursday. Lucy the robot was able to outsmart other expecting buyers for it was able to take the fourth spot in the line.
For those curious individuals who wants to copy Kelly's technique and make a robot join line for new iPhone, you would need an iPad attached to a Segway-type device in order for you to be somehow physically present not just in a store but in many practical areas you could think of. This ingenious idea can be used in almost everything; Kelly even stated that, "We use them for everything, just to show new technology. It is a cool demonstration of what the future of technology will be like. We are obsessed with them."
