Hugh Jackman's role as Wolverine in "X-Men'' is going to end anytime soon, and questions about who will replace him are still to be found. Fortunately, Jackman already has a choice as to who should do the adamantium claws in his stead. "I think Tom Hardy would be a great Wolverine.'' Jackman said. "He's younger than me for sure," the actor added.
Variety news said that Hardy is no stranger to the comic book genre. Thanks to his role as Bane in "The Dark Knight Rises'' and to the upcoming adaptation of "100 Bullets," he seems to be a good choice for the role of the looming vacancy.
Tom Hardy is also a frontrunner to take over the James Bond franchise following Daniel Craig's eventual departure. Though many believe that there are other actors who could portray the suave spy, the social media still seems pretty interested in Idris Elba for the role.
Jackman will still play the same role in an upcoming sequel to "The Wolverine.'' Although it's still not known if he'll make cameos in the upcoming "X-Men: Apocalypse.''
With due respect to Hugh Jackman, it seems that he can't play Wolverine forever. The Ausie actor made it clear that his upcoming third solo Wolverine film, will be his last stint in the claws. And he is now looking potential actor to replace him.
Jackman's choice of Tom Hardy could be great. But the thing is, Tom Hardy doesn't need it right now. He has still one franchise on his resume in the Mad Max movies...that is, if George Miller pursues another film after the successful Mad Max: Fury Road. He also has a steady stream of prestige pictures, from the upcoming Legend to The Revenant, alongside Leonardo DiCarpio.
According to Cinema Blend, Hugh Jackman makes a great suggestion by choosing Tom Hardy to replace him in "X-Men.'' But he's not sure if Tom Hardy would fit into the bigger picture of what Fox is trying to build with its signature superhero franchise.
