The "iPhone 6s" and "iPhone 6s Plus" is released worldwide. Apple claims that the demands for the new iPhones could surpass last year's sales of the iPhone 6, as it launched the device in the U.K., The Guardian reported.
Apple fans lined up early to get the iPhone 6s and its bigger sibling, the iPhone 6s Plus. In Sydney and San Francisco, buyers lined up days ahead of time. It was even reported that one buyer in Australia, Lucy Kelly, sent a robot to hold her place on line just to get the new iPhone.
Buyers also lined up for the iPhones in Singapore, Paris, San Francisco and London. In New York, the streets were full for the Pope's U.S. tour while others were in line two weeks ahead on Apple stores. In London, 29-year-old Sam Shaikh from Stratford, was the first to own the new iPhone, who was also the first to acquire the iPhone 6 last year. People were in queue six nights before the launching in U.K.
Pre-order prices of the phone's website are at £539 ($649) for the 16GB model, £619 ($749) for 64GB and £699 ($849) the 128GB for the 4.7-inch iPhone 6s. Meanwhile, the 5.5in iPhone 6s Plus are priced at £619 ($749) for the 16GB, £699 ($849) for 64GB and £789 ($949) for 128GB storage models.
The new iPhones are available through walk-in purchase at most Apple Stores, excluding Oregon, Delaware, New Hampshire, and Alaska. It can also be purchased from Apple Retail stores through select carriers and Apple Authorized Resellers. An easier option is to purchase them online but it is currently sold out and would be available by early October, meaning it will be delivered to you one to weeks later, The Verge reported.
Apple also designed accessories that includes a leather and silicone cases available in different colors and Lightning Docks with colors that match the metallic iPhone finishes. Every iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus buyer is given free Personal Setup while those who want to learn more about the new iPhone and iOS 9 can attend free workshops at Apple Retail Stores.
Apart from the Retina screen display, the iPhone has a new feature introducing a brand-new screen technology called "3D Touch," allowing its users to "Peek" by pressing lightly, or "Pop" by pressing harder. It also featured "Quick Actions" wherein app icons become shortcuts to choose where in that app you want to go, MacWorld noted.
"3D Touch lets users interact with iPhone in entirely new and fun ways, and the innovative Live Photos brings your pictures to life," said Phil Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, according to Know Your Mobile. "These are the most advanced iPhones ever, with 7000 series aluminium, ion-strengthened glass, the new 64-bit A9 chip, 12-megapixel iSight and 5-megapixel FaceTime HD cameras, faster Touch ID, LTE and Wi-Fi. Customers are going to love them."
