Speculations are making rounds that Juliette, Nick's greatest love, might be returning to "Grimm" Season 5.
Season 4's finale saw Juliette (Bitsie Tulloch), who was turned into a Hexenbiest, was fatally shot with an arrow and was dying in Nick's (David Giuntoli) arms. So the question left to the fans: is she really dead? Or is it that only her Hexenbiest part is dead and Juliette will return to being human?
According to Zap2it, showrunners David Greenwalt and Jim Kouf were asked if Tulloch would be returning to the series, to which Kouf answered, "It's a good question. The answer is ... possibly not. I think it keeps everyone on edge. You don't know what's going to happen."
Greenwalt added, "Anything could happen. It seems like a few shows, episode whatever, they get married or they finally get together. We decided to go a different way."
The latest "Grimm" promo trailer shows Juliette in a coffin at the funeral, so that's quite a confirmation of her death.
Nick's mother, Kelly (Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio) also ended up dead. She was killed and beheaded by the Verrant. With both his mother and the love of his life gone, there are surely some repercussions on Nick's part. Will he seek vengeance?
Greenwalt said, "The real discussion is something major happening to a major character. That's what's important in the move. It seems inevitable. It seems like it had to happen." He added, "Nick has to deal with an awful lot of stuff now, including it sure looks like Adalind is going to have his baby. ... He's got a child he's responsible for, so that's the conflict."
Speaking of which, Giuntoli said at San Diego Comic Con 2015 round table press con, "I will say now that I love this kid a lot and that [Adalind] seems to love this kid a lot and that I will do anything for the kid. So we're in tandem in a certain way. I think, also, Nick's finally realized that it's time to move out of his house, and I'll tease that I'm probably going to take [my son] with me wherever I go."
Could moving out of his house mean Nick's moving to Adalind's? Or taking his son wherever he goes means he's on his way for something bigger, a path to revenge perhaps?
The trailer also shows that Nick got suspended from work and refused help from his best friends. Season 5 promises a darker version of Nick, who's been trying to hide his Grimm side.
Find out what happens to Nick when "Grimm" Season 5 returns to NBC on Oct. 30.
