"Narcos" final episode of season one hints of another season to complete Escobar saga.
The last episode of "Narcos" to cap off its initial season has shown that the end of the line for the Colombian drug lord is very near. However, in a review by NY Daily News, while it may be so, there are still a lot of episodes left before the series can satisfactorily end. This is good news for fans of the show that want and expect another season.
In the same post by NY Daily News, the finale showed DEA agents Murphy and Peña releasing the photos they took to the media of Escobar's castle-like prison. There was public outcry which is exactly what the two hoped would happen. However, it was not just the public who cried foul as the U.S. government found their actions undesirable and looks at it as meddling. They get suspended as the Colombian government decides to get their military involved.
While Murphy celebrated his accomplishment, he gets kidnapped by armed men who are presumably working for Escobar. In the meantime, the head of the Medellin Cartel is busy negotiating with the Colombian government to avoid fighting them. But President Gavira is adamant on removing Escobar from his fortress prison and so orders are made to send in the Special Forces. It is later revealed that Murphy was taken by the Cali cartel who blackmailed the DEA to work with them to eliminate Escobar. The commandoes storm La Catedral, rescues the vice-minister but Escobar escapes.
Meanwhile, The Federalist thinks that Netflix will no doubt gain more viewers and followers if it made more original series like "Narcos" instead of the "Marco Polo" historical drama which many critics say is an attempt to mimic the success of the "Game of Thrones" franchise.
