'Supernatural' Casts 'Hello Ladies' actor Nate Torrence as Sam's Childhood Imaginary Friend

A familiar face is coming to one of the episodes of "Supernatural" after it returns to screen in October. Warning, this is a spoiler.

According to Variety, Sam Winchester, played Jared Padalecki, will get an enormously nostalgic experience as he revisits his imaginary friend from his childhood. Sam's imaginary friend, Sully, will be played by a comedic actor known for his role as Wade in the 2014 "Hello Ladies" movie, the big screen adaptation of the one-season 2013 TV show by the same title. Variety said that it has learned exclusively that Sully in season 11 of "Supernatural" will be played by Nate Torrence.

Now that Sam is all grown up, fans must be wondering, how Sully, Nate's guest spot, would be significant in this particular "Supernatural" episode. In the real world children outgrow their imaginary friends but, according to Entertainment Weekly, Sully will come to Sam to ask for his help. In this episode, Sam would have to forget demon hunting for a while and help his old buddy.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, when the main stars Jensen Ackles (Dean) and Jared Padalecki (Sam), where asked about some lighter, fun episodes for season 11 of "Supernatural," Ackles said, "Oh yeah, after all it is a show that really made its mark at how we balanced the dark episodes with the light episodes and everything in between. I think that juxtaposition has always been a signature of ours. Even though the last couple of seasons have been pretty heavy and pretty dramatic, I think now that we've got the brothers back in the saddle so to speak, it is going to lend itself to some more of those moments. In fact, I foresee a lot of T-shirt and bumper sticker sayings."

This episode about an imaginary friend could be one of those light episodes or it could also lead the show into something else.

Nevertheless, Sully reportedly appears in episode 1108, titled "Just My Imagination." "Supernatural" season 11 starts Wednesday, Oct. 7 at 9 p.m. on The CW.
