"Sleepy Hollow" returns on television screen on Oct. 1. With just one week left before the premiere, Fox has been dropping spoilers on Twitter. One big surprise to the fans of the series is a photo of Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) hinting that he will be landing in jail at some point, which could be one major story plot in the premiere episode.
In the Twitter photo, Ichabod is wearing an orange outfit. Also pictured is a U.S. Border Patrol.
Fox also revealed that as the new season begins, nine months have passed and Abbie Mills (Nicole Beharie) is already an FBI agent after completing her training in Quantico. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, new executive producer Clifton Campbell said that there were several creative changes made in the upcoming season and characters were moved forward. Campbell said, "We don't want anything to ever be too settled in Sleepy Hollow. That would be the antithesis of our show." "We're not going to be as mythology-laden as the show has been in the past," he further shared. "The fun is definitely back."
While the "Sleepy Hollow" will still focus on Abbie and Ichabod's relationship, the series also added three new regulars to help them, EW reported. "House of Payne" star Lance Gross will play as Abbie's FBI boss. "Twilight" star Nikki Reed will take the role as Betsy Ross. Zach Appelman will return full-time as Joe Corbin.
Campbell also revealed to EW that there will be two "Bones" crossover episodes (one for each show) where Abbie and Ichabod will be working with Booth and Brennan. "Obviously, we're totally different shows, but we looked at that as a real opportunity, both from their side and from our side. Both shows work best when they don't take themselves too seriously," he said.
Catch up with Abbie and Ichabod when "Sleepy Hollow" Season 3 airs on Thursday, Oct. 1 on FOX.
