After selling his Beverly Hills mansion for a whopping $8 million, the 'Sling Blade' star, Billy Bob Thornton has purchased a modest residence for $2.7 million in the Mandeville Canyon area of Brentwood, California.
According to the listing on Trulia, Thornton purchased the home early in February. The new digs claim a 2,818 square footage consisting of five bedrooms and four bathrooms. The traditional country style home lies on a gated, secure compound and was renovated before the sale.
The double-story home has a living room with a stone fireplace and a formal dining room. A gourmet kitchen with modern equipment and a built in pantry also exists in the property. The lower level homes the 4 bedrooms with 2 1/2 attached baths and a maid's chambers as well.
The upper level comprises of the master suite, a library, a gym and a private balcony. Outside, the home has a designer garden, an outdoor kitchen and fireplace and a salt-water pool with a solar heater.
The home is quite modest when compared to the Beverly Hills mansion, he once share with ex-wife, Angelina Jolie.
The Beverly Hills Home comprised of 9 bedrooms and 10 full bathrooms. The home had a recording studio. A double story living room, a gym and a cozy library. The residence grounds also had fine-looking fountains and a nice pool. A shaded loggia and a tennis court were the other features of the mansion.
Does this mean he has downsized and moved on? Maybe he has.
Thornton and Jolie split in 2003. Since then he has been in a relationship with Connie Angland. Thornton maintains that Jolie and he will always remain friends. For his autobiography, "The Billy Bob Tapes: A Cave Full of Ghosts" Jolie contributed a gracious foreword in praise of Thornton.
