Hulu announced its new lineup of movies from its new deal with Epix that will be available for streaming in October. Netflix and Epix have decided not to get into a new contract.
The multi-year deal between Hulu and Epix will take effect in October allowing Hulu subscribers to stream blockbuster movies from Lionsgate, Paramount and MGM. According to The Hollywood Reporter, it can be recalled that Epix recently announced that it would not be renewing its contract with Netflix paving the way for Hulu take over the treasure throve of hit films from the three giant movie studios.
Hulu released a list of titles that should whey the appetites of their subscribers namely: "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and Mockingjay - Part 1," "The Wolf of Wall Street," "Anchorman 2," "Noah," "Star Trek: Into Darkness," "World War Z," "The Expendables 3," "G.I. Joe: Retaliation," "Hercules," "Hugo," "Justin Bieber: Never Say Never," "Nebraska," "Pain & Gain," "Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones," "The Skeleton Twins" and "Transformers: Age of Extinction."
In the same report by The Hollywood Reporter, it was also mentioned that Netflix subscribers who want to stream Epix movies should start watching before the deal with Hulu starts by the end of September. Other content shall also be released in October such as TV series hits like "Bones," "Sleepy Hollow," "Jane the Virgin" and many more.
Meanwhile, according to CBS News, virtual reality is coming to Netflix and Hulu as the two streaming giants have already created interfaces for the technology that they will be offering as part of their services to their subscribers.
Netflix engineering vice-president Anthony Park said in a statement that they have created an interface that places viewers in a living room simulation. This, he says, will allow Netflix users to have the virtual reality experience wherever they go as long as they have their VR gear with them.
