One Direction's Louis Tomlinson Drops $22,000 to Install Panic Room

Louis Tomlinson and his fellow band mates of One Direction have a growing fan base, but with every step of fame comes a price. The latest price paid was for a panic room to be installed in his home.

Tomlinson, 21, took extreme measures to protect himself from stalkers and dropped $22,000 to install a panic room, reported The Herald Sun.

"Louis loves the fans and isn't overwhelmed with paranoia. He's just a realist about the dangers of being in the spotlight," a source close to Tomlinson told The Herald Sun "One Direction followers are notorious for tracking the lads down, so that's made him a bit cautious."

Tomlinson's girlfriend, Eleanor Calder, was previously besieged by a jealous fan, so the room is just a precautionary step.

According to the source, Tomlinson felt frightened about thieves and kidnappers when the Justin Bieber murder plot was revealed, reported The Herald Sun.

Last year, Tomlinson bought a $3.7 million 4-storey luxury home in Northern London, reported The Sun. It includes 6 bedrooms, 5 baths and 4 reception rooms. The pad also has a fun game room, standard swimming pool and spa.

It's not known whether fellow band mates, Harry Styles, Liam Payne and Niall Horan will follow suit, but Zayn Malik, 19, supposedly has one in his $3 million luxury estate.

Earlier this year, Malik reportedly had an affair with an Australian waitress, Courtney Webb, and she made headlines for receiving death threats on Twitter and in her voicemail, reported The Sun.

We all know Taylor Swift, Harry Style's ex, who was inundated with threats from crazed fans during their relationship. As far as One Direction's Horan goes, he insists the boys will be alright.

"It's only brave girls behind a computer, thinking they can say what they want," Horan told The Herald Sun. "Other celebrities get freaked out about death threats. I'm carefree about it."
