'Modern Family' Season 7 Episode 2 Spoilers: Alex Lies To Her Parents; Mitch & Cam Rent Out Their Home

In the upcoming episode of "Modern Family" Season 7, Alex Dunphy (Ariel Winter) will be lying to her parents about her move in day.

According to Christian Today, Alex does not want Claire (Julie Bowen) and Phil (Ty Burrell) to make a big deal about her moving in Caltech. According to the report, Alex will be giving her parents false information. She also reportedly wants her family to see her as an adult now that she is in college and prove to them that she can make decisions on her own. She reportedly feels like she needs to be herself now that she is setting up her new place.

Despite being happy now that their child is in college, it was reported that Claire and Phil are still sad to see Alex go off to college. Aside from that, their other children are also growing up fast. According to the site, Haley (Sarah Hyland) is staying less at home and is trying to live her own life.

In an interview with Yahoo, co-creator Christopher Lloyd revealed how the family are coping with Alex's absence. According to Lloyd, Phil would be more affected by his daughter's absence as Claire has her work to distract her. Lloyd also hinted that Alex will be busier with her college life in the new season; however, he assured that fans will still be able to see her more often.

Meanwhile, Mitch (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) and Cam (Eric Stonestreet) are still working out their situation at home. According to the recap by Hollywood News Daily, in the premiere episode last week, Mitch still hasn't found a job and just decided to take the summer off to do his art. In episode 2, the couple has decided to rent out the upper part of their home to be able to earn more.

"Modern Family" Season 7 airs every Wednesdays on ABC.
