Bethesda has released a new information on the character systems of its upcoming game "Fallout 4." The changes from "Fallout 3" is hoped to make it simpler and for users and streamline the gamers' experience.
Bethesda has removed the old skill system. The users now focus on perks and SPECIALs (Strength, Perception, Endurance, Charisma, Intelligence, Agility, and Luck). At the beginning of the game, the user got to assign a starting value from 1 to 10 of 7 SPECIALs, for a maximum of 28 points initially. The levelling speed is said to be faster than in "Fallout 3" which provides users more opportunities to level up and select a perk on the Perk chart. Also, "Fallout 4" has no level cap, unlike "Fallout 3" that's up to 20 only.
"If you're a longtime Fallout fan, you'll notice that the Skills seen in previous games have been folded into this system. The previous Skill system had some confusing parts and ended up spreading your choices too thin," Bethesda wrote. "By wrapping these systems together, it keeps the emphasis on your SPECIALs and the level-up choices more rewarding."
"Through the many years of Fallout 4 development, and the countless hours of playtesting, we think you're going to love this system in action. We experimented with other systems, but found this one to be the most flexible and intuitive. Balancing all of the ranks, their individual efficacy, SPECIAL rank, and player level has been a huge task. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do, and share your character choices and playstyles with us once the game is out. We can't wait for you to play."
Bethesda also promised to release educational videos every week to show what the skills do in the game.
"Fallout 4" is slated to be released on Nov. 4, 2015.
