'Stephen Curry'-- MVP with a Good Heart: Basketball Star Visits His "Ultimate" Fan who has Cancer

Stephen Curry has been the talk of the town since the Golden State Warriors became champion team for the last season of NBA and since he himself was declared as the MVP of the season. Such achievements were not only celebrated by Curry and his team, for on the sidelines fans from different parts of the globe likewise rejoiced over their idol's achievement. And one of the many fans who celebrated over Curry's victory is Taliq Davis, who recently had a chance to meet his idol, Stephen Curry, face to face.

The meeting is not just your ordinary fan-sign day meeting. For Curry himself went an extra mile to locate and see Davis face to face. The event is very important for Davis who is currently fighting a battle against a certain type of brain cancer. According to foxsports, Davis has "Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma -- affects the nervous system, which gradually loses function. The tumor itself is generally inoperable in DIPG cases," and accordingly the young fan of Curry had undergone four surgical procedures since his diagnosis.

This isn't the first contact made by Curry to show support for the cancer patient, Davis. For during Davis' 10th birthday the season's MVP wished Davis a happy birthday via social media. Curry posted a video via twitter and twitted saying that;

"Happy 10th Birthday to my man Taliq. Keep fighting, keep believing. We are all praying & rooting for you! #TeamTaliq "

However, Curry was not satisfied of the video greeting he made last summer. It seems like Curry believes in the idea that nothing beats seeing your idol in flesh and being able to hang out with him. For as a result, Curry extended an extra mile and fulfilled Davis' wish to see him in person. And as a bonus of the visit, the young cancer patient visited by Curry was able to receive some material gifts, like signed shirts.

Though this act of Curry visiting a cancer patient may not cure the cancer itself, it sure made a kid smile and helped him forget momentarily the pain that the sickness brings. What do you think about Stephen Curry's act of kindness? Feel free to share and comment.
