‘One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3’ Review for 'PS4': Good Gameplay, Spot-on Graphics, and Smooth Characters

"One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3" is the 3rd video game wherein Bandai Namco has fluxed the "One Piece" world with the "Warriors/Musou" game play. Thus, the player will feel at home with this new video game, if the person has already played the "Dynasty Warriors," "Samurai Warriors," and "Hyrule Warriors" series.

Rocket Chainsaw gives reviews that "One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3" is based on its gameplay. It says that the new video game has 3 core gameplay modes. These are the Legend log, Free log, and Dream log. Obviously, all three have different features including its shall we say weak points.

Legend Log allows you to play the game through the key scenes of the timeline of "One Piece." But the player has to play each game based on its sequence, from beginning to end. What is good in this mode is that the battles are cherry-picked from the best combats from the manga and anime series. However, "it also goes over plot you will have played in previous "One Piece Warriors" titles," which means the fans would feel that they have been playing the same scenes and battles. Thus, this mode is only ideal for first-time players.

Free log, on the hand, is a gameplay mode that is "basically a freeplay version of the story mode where players can use any unlocked character for any of the story missions." But what makes it exciting is that it has added "novel replayability," which makes the player takes his/ her character in to scenarios that canonically incomprehensible.

The third mode of "One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3" is the Dream Log. This mode allows players to engage in "what-if" battles including scenarios that don't come about in the canon plot of the manga and anime series. This is what makes the game fun to play with because players and fans could play strange scenarios in the video game.

The critic says that among the three modes, the players could have a large amount of amusement while playing the "One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3." Sohood says that this 3rd video game series of "One Piece" has online features, which make the "game really shine when playing with another player online." Aside from a good gameplay, the graphics are also spot on. The combat is really fluid plus the characters look great and feel smooth.

However, there is just one issue that is identified while playing "One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3." The camera seems off because sometimes "it is positioned in a way that it makes it difficult to see yourself in battle." Player may find it bothersome especially at the heat of the combat. You also need "to jump back to reset the camera."
