'Mark Wahlberg' Asked Forgiveness from 'Pope Francis' for His Movie ‘Ted’

During World Meeting of Families in Philadelphia, Mark Wahlberg asked forgiveness from Pope Francis for the movie 'Ted'. The said festival had Pope Francis as their guest, and it so happened that the Hollywood star was the master of ceremonies and the headliner during the said event. Together with him to perform that night were Aretha Franklin, Andrea Bocelli, The Fray, the Philadelphia Orchestra and others. However, those performances were overshadowed by Wahlberg's so-called act of contrition.

While Pope Francis was sitting on stage and Wahlberg was on the podium, the said actor suddenly blurted his feelings out. The said act of Wahlberg asking for forgiveness from Pope Francis was after a soprano singer sang "Pie Jesu" by Andrew Lloyd Webber. Wahlberg narrated that the 14 year old singer, Bobby Hill, of the Keystone State Boychoir who performed an opera solo approached him before the event formally started. Wahlberg then shared via usatoday what transpired behind the scene, saying that;

"He whispered in my ear that he liked the movie 'Ted'. I told him that was not appropriate for his age."

After Wahlberg shared the incident to the crowd and to the distinguish guests as well, he then followed a one liner saying that, "Holy Father, please forgive me."

The movie that Mark Wahlberg was asking for forgiveness from Pope Francis is about Ted, a trash talking teddy bear that was brought to life after Wahlberg's character, John Bennett, made a wish to give his the teddy bear a life.

Despite such gesture done by Wahlberg, some critics still commented that the Hollywood superstar was not serious with his intention of asking forgiveness from Pope Francis. Others from social media even commented that he should have asked forgiveness about the attacks he made against Asian Americans during his younger years. Such comment was particularly pertaining to his assault on Johnny Trinh, whom he allegedly punched and was left one eye blinded.
