Supermodel turned TV personality Tyra Banks is putting her Los Angeles "Spanish-inspired" home up in the market. According to The Wall Street Journal, Tyra is selling the house for $7.75 million.
It has been reported that Banks purchased the Los Angeles house in 2004 for $3.085 million. This is according to listing agent Heidi Lake of Sotheby's International Realty. Lake also said that "Tyra spent around $2 million in renovating the house over the past decade."
The house was originally built in 1926. This is a 6,000-square-foot house that sits on an 11,000-square-foot lot. "The four-bedroom house has travertine and maple wood floors, hand-painted tiles, vintage French doors, clerestory windows, and a sun room," said LA Curbed.
Luxury Listings NYC shared that the "head to toe" home renovation made was able to keep the "Spanish-colonial inspired home" picture perfect. The Wall Street Journal reported that Tyra was able to keep the "original details such as terra-cotta tiled roof and exposed wood beams." She "remodeled the kitchen and added an outdoor kitchen as well as an outdoor living room where she said she liked to spend summer evenings. She also turned part of the garage into a gym."
The master bedroom enjoys the city view and it has its own safe room inside the walk-in closet. The outside part of the house is more inviting because of its "outdoor casita," outdoor swimming pool, outdoor kitchen and four fountains.
Tyra said that she was not expecting to sell the house until she discovered a new property in Malibu Hills. She said in an email, "I was not looking for another home until I discovered a property in the Malibu hills through a friend."
"The decision to move was a difficult one," Tyra added.
Tyra is the host and executive producer of "America's Next Top Model" which is now on its Cycle 22.
