The American singer-songwriter Chris Brown is in for a tough time as he made the headlines last week.
As per the Inquisitr website, the Australian government might reject his visa due to his domestic abuse case back in 2009 when he pleaded guilty after assaulting his then girlfriend Rihanna. Brown would be needing his visa as he'll be having an upcoming concert tour in Australia in December. Tickets for the upcoming concert "One Hell Of A Nite" were out on Monday.
The Minister for Women, Michaela Cash, made a stand against domestic violence as she urged the Immigration Minister to deny Brown's Australian Visa.
"People need to understand - if you are going to commit domestic violence and then you want to travel around the world, there are going to be countries that say to you, 'You cannot come in because you are not of the character that we expect in Australia.'"
As per The Daily Telegraph, Peter Dutton refused to make any statement that specifically points out the rapper's case, he did however release a statement pertaining domestic abuse in general.
"However, speaking in general terms I personally find domestic violence abhorrent. As a society we must be aware of the great harm that domestic violence causes to women, families and our community, we have to change our attitudes and culture and ensure family violence is just not acceptable in today's Australia."
Numerous reports may have emerged already, Brown's reps however denied the allegations stating that his visa is still being processed.
Daily Mail then reported that Brown's management stated that the rumors were false as Chris Brown was able to access Australia twice after his domestic violence case.
His manager, Mike G., made an Instagram post stating that "The request is currently being considered by the office of the Immigration Minister, Contrary to media reports Chris Brown's request to enter Australia on tour has not been denied." He then added, "We respect their right to review this request and have faith that a decision will be made with the full consideration of his continued personal growth, ongoing philanthropic endeavor and desire to perform for his fans."
