Nate Berkus to Host New NBC Home Makeover Realty Show

Famous talk show host and interior decorator, Nate Berkus, is all set to host a new home makeover reality show "Renovation Nation," which will be produced and aired on NBC. Berkus will not only be hosting the show but will also act as a judge and executive producer. The new show comes on the heels of ABC Network pulling out the "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" show.

The new show "Renovation Nation" will feature the most gifted home designers and builders who will compete for a final cash price. Winners will be chosen through viewers' votes. In the season finale, two lucky viewers will be awarded keys to a dream home, completely renovated on the show.

"Renovation Nation" will feature 10 episodes, where Berkus will present the contestants with building and design challenges. Contestants will face off each other to create the ultimate home alterations.

All the contestants will be judged by a panel of judges led by Berkus. The winning team will qualify for the next episode, while the losing team will have to choose contestants from their team who will have to head home.

Viewers will be able to tour the homes virtually and will also be able to purchase accessories featured in the homes. The viewers will also be given weekly prizes ranging from luxury home décor to cash prizes as well.

"We are delighted to work with the incredibly talented Nate Berkus, whose expertise, creativity and passion for design are unparalleled in scope," Paul Telegdy, President of Alternative and Late Night Programming for NBC Entertainment, said in a statement. "We believe we are in a time where Americans want to feel empowered and inspired to make changes to their homes; changes that will not only increase their value and quality of life but at the same time - not break the bank. Our goal is to showcase incredibly diverse architecture, impeccable design and epic transformations unlike anything you've seen before."
