'Fear The Walking Dead: Flight 462' Date, Synopsis, News: Web Series Premieres After 'FTWD' TV Series Season 1 Finale

Fans of "The Walking Dead" wouldn't be lonely waiting for the premiere of the "TWD" series season 6. "Fear the Walking Dead," a spinoff/prequel series that's capitalizing on the strength of its name premiered a few weeks ago and is doing strong in the ratings, screenrant.com reports.

Before "Fear the Walking Dead" season 1 even ends, its second season is already guaranteed and it is deemed to be even more expansive with a 16-episode stretch which is more than double of the 6-episode first season.

But for fans who can't wait for the "FTWD" season 2, a web series titled "Fear The Walking Dead: Flight 462" will be out as companion of "Fear The Walking Dead." The story of this web series will focus on passengers of a commercial flight in the beginning of the outbreak where an infected passenger is believed to be on board. Fans can expect the same amount of excitement as it is under the same showrunners of "Fear The Walking Dead," Dave Erickson and co-executive producer David Wiener.

Fans can catch the first installment of "Fear The Walking Dead: Flight 462" on AMC.com on Sunday October 4th simultaneous with "Fear The Walking Dead" season finale. Every episode will run for less than a minute long and fresh online episodes will be aired every Sunday. Fans can also enjoy the web series once the sixth season of "The Walking Dead" begins to roll as promos during every episode.

Apart from getting more out of "The Walking Dead" franchise, die-hard fans should not miss Flight 462 as it offers a new angle on the beginning of the infection plus it ha significant influence on "Fear The Walking Dead" season 2. According to the show's producers, a character from the short web series is going to be brought in the second season of the prequel series.

There have already been three web series released based in the world of "The Walking Dead - Torn Apart, Cold Storage," and the "Oath" - and "Flight 462" is the fourth and most recent addition and is believed to be the most successful installment yet.
