This aim is very clear to see when they used a reinforced 7000 series aluminum in their latest iPhone, the 6S. However, rumors suggest that the company will take their durability improvement to the next level with the iPhone 7.
News say that by the production of the iPhone 7, Apple may already be ready to make their handsets dustproof and waterproof. Apple may actually be quite late in using this feature, because this has already been a mainstream feature to many Android phones, especially the Xperia handsets.
According to TechRadar, a rumor came out that tells about a few iPhone prototypes with features they describe as 'ruggedized'. There are also rumors that suggest Apple has been busy going through a few technologies for them to use, such as the sillicone seals and the encapsulated system on chip processors.
However, these are just rumors, at least for now. But the Japanese blog who started these rumors has already been right before with their predicted news about the iPhone 6. Also iPhone has been recently tested by a Youtuber if it can last being submerged to water, and the iPhone succeeded.It was under water for an hour and it still functions as normal.
iPhone users might have already realized that these handsets from Apple are also water resistant, the company just never advertises it, maybe because its not exactly a feature that they have focused one, they just happened to do their part in trying to protect their handsets from accidental water submersion.
With the Youtuber's experiment, the iPhones survived an hour of submersion without barking out their parts or blacking out their screens. The phones even continuously did a timer counting despite being clearly under water.
If Apple finally comes up with an advertised water/dust resistance feature, it will definitely be a big step, and it can be predicted that fans will deal with this feature with full amazement as they did when iPhone introduced their first fingerprint scanner.
