The "Fireworks" singer, Katy Perry, is reportedly having trouble unloading her Hollywood Hills home that she had purchased with her ex-husband actor Russell Brand in 2011.
According to TMZ, the singer had privately listed the home a couple of months earlier with an asking price of $8 million. As the home has failed to sell, Perry will now be cutting off $1 million and listing it for $7 million. She is so desperate to sell the place that she has declared she will accept any price above and around $6 million. If the home sells for that much, Perry will lose out on a good $2 million.
But looks like she just wants to get the home off her back. Brand had transferred ownership of the home to Perry when they ended their 14-month marriage. However, now that Perry is happily dating singer John Mayer, and with news of a possible engagement doing the rounds, maybe she wants to get rid of the Brand-memories.
The Mayer-Perry couple has already started planning its wedding. Apparently, the couple just wants an intimate wedding.
"Katy and John want to have a really intimate traditional ceremony with only their closest friends and family. They're both from fairly traditional families and don't want a big party," a source told British Grazia.
"They had so much fun when they visited her hometown that Katy and John have both agreed it would make sense to do it there. They loved SanYsidro because it's so private and peaceful with amazing scenery," the source added.
Anyhow, since Perry's Hollywood Hills home was privately listed all the while, not much is known about the details.
According to the photos at TMZ, the home looks like a double story old antique house with stone fireplaces, wooden floors and beamed ceilings. Brick roofs, green gardens and a small pool in the backyard are some of its features. The home also has a screening media room.
Some commenters at TMZ have said that the house is overpriced for its looks. Another commenter said that the home needed complete renovation and the interiors were "nasty 1970's".
