On Tuesday, a new game trailer of "Halo 5: Guardians" titled "A Hero Falls" has been released last week and went viral. Avid fans and gamers have lauded the game's trailer since they were finally able to take a closer look on the things that will be offered in the upcoming game.
Taking a cue from the trailer's title, it was said that the star of the game's series, Master Chief, eventually dies in the series. Master Chief, the "Halo" game series principal character, is considered one of the popular icons of the game, a report from iDigital Times said.
"The trailer is certainly dramatic, with a woman speaking about a recent 'event.' 'On October 27th, 2560, Spartan 117, the man most commonly known as the Master Chief, died in the line of duty,' the trailer says. Out of respect to those who may have lost loved ones in the event, we are holding back the complete account," the report said, adding that "the trailer then ends with a building collapsing. As the camera pulls back, it shows Master Chief buried under a pile of rubble. His visor fades to black before the trailer comes to a close."
Movie Pilot reports that the game's new trailer shows a chaotic and destructive scenario, but it was generally described as "awesome." In the trailer, players will be able to see the Master Chief trying to escape the crumbling city, but unfortunately, he fails.
"The buildings and debris seem to come crashing down on our Spartan hero, severely damaging him and causing his visor to go from orange from 'dimmed.' It also shows ONI and the UNSC at a vast gathering where it is announced that Spartan 117 has been considered KIA," the report said, describing Master Chief's supposed demise in the game.
However, some gamers believe that Master Chief is not dead, as they cited another trailer of the game which shows a very similar ending to "A Hero Falls."
"It should be noted the ending scene of the trailer is extremely similar to the first Halo 5: Guardians Master Chief trailer we saw earlier this year, where he is lying beneath his statue from Halo 3, seemingly defeated and dying, under rubble. In this most recent trailer it seems ONI discovered and confirmed Chief's death from a drone, which you can see in the trailer. This is interesting, because it means Chief may have very well FAKED his death to get ONI off his trail," the report said.
The game is scheduled to be released on Oct. 27 for Xbox One.
