Ricky Gervais and Jane Fallon List London Property for $16.7 Million

Jennifer Duke shared through her article on Domain that Emmy and Golden Globe winning comedian Ricky Gervais and producer turned novelist Jane Fallon, have listed their former Willoughby Road, Hampstead home in London on the market. The asking price set by the couple is £7.75 million or $16,796,900.

According to Mark David of Variety, the four-storey, Victorian era residence measures 5,263-square-feet and features four bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms. It was reportedly bought by Gervais and Fallon, his partner of 30 years, in 2006 for about £3.4 million or about $6.5 million. The living and dining space, a high-ceilinged floor-through combination on the main floor, makes a grand, almost forty-foot sweep from front to back. It is matched with marble-mantled fireplaces, wide planks, dark brown wooden floors, and leaded glass bay windows overlooking a walled front garden. One can have a direct access through the French doors leading to the hidden terrace at the back.

The adjacent kitchen is spacious with a dedicated dining space and a built-in buffet. Another set of French doors open to the back garden and to an expansive cooking space with a bigger center island and stainless steel appliances. Just above a narrow attached single car garage is a compact guest bedroom and bathroom.

On the second floor is a large office-study where a couple of Gervais' guitars, from his younger days, are kept, and where inset bookshelves are placed on either side of a fireplace. The master bedroom, which completes the second floor, has a terrace, wall to wall carpeting, and a fireplace. Its bathroom and fitted dressing room overlooks the garden. An attic-like top floor features a small bed slash study room, and an unexpectedly large combination of a bathroom and dressing room, a shower space with a soaking tub painted in a vibrant fuschia shade.

It was said that approximately £1 million was spent by Gervais and Fallon for their former house's renovation, where the following amenities were added: a basement level leisure complex, composed of a glass-enclosed plunge pool, a golf simulator which can be converted to a home theater, a sky-lit gym, and laundry facilities.

U.K. news reported that the couple, and their feline Ollie, has moved to a more expensive abode nearby, which was said to be around £10.5 million or $15,927,500.
