‘Blood & Oil’ Season 1 Episode 1 Recap: An Oil Baron Struggles between Family and Ambition

In ABC's new series "Blood & Oil," Billy and Cody Lefever move to North Dakota to pursue Billy's dream of becoming one of the oil millionaires that are said to be made in the oil fields every day. This ambition will soon consume the Lefevers' marriage which marks the beginning of the series' drama plot.

"Blood & Oil" pilot episode for its first season introduces the protagonists of the new drama series to hit prime time television. According to ABC, the show will revolve around a young couple who just got married, the Lefevers, Billy and Cody. They both come from the working class and they agree to follow Billy's dream of making it big via the oil fields of Rock Springs, North Dakota. The hype that follows the largest oil discovery in U.S. history says that not a day goes by without somebody hitting it big and becoming millionaire. The couple decided to bet everything they have on this pursuit and move to this "greener pasture."

However, things don't work out like Billy was expecting it to be. They get in an accident with their Laundromat equipment that they were planning to open in the oil fields. They decided to continue but things get even rougher. They both get jobs until one mishap leads them to cross paths with Bakken oil baron Hap Briggs and his wife Carla.

In a review posted by Celeb Dirty Laundry, Billy and Cody finally get their shot at hitting it big when they found out about the spot that contains the most volume of oil in the land. They manage to rent it out to Briggs who had no idea that the young couple was way above their heads in what they did to secure the land. The show ends with Billy and Wick, Hal's son, locked in a brawl.
