"Silent Circle" launched its latest product, an Android smart phone called the "Blackphone 2" which is designed for privacy obsessives.
The phone, designed by the company that is known for secure smart phones and communications products, is priced at $799 with access to the Google Play store.

"Blackphone 2 combines an enhanced Android operating system with a suite of apps designed to keep your enterprise and personal information separate and private. We're proud to deliver a safe and sexy device with a seamless user experience."
This new device is a personal phone that "separate virtual workspaces for recreational and work usage, and it gives employers granular control over what information is emitted through it," Fast Company reported.
One of the unique factors of the phone is that it runs a modded version of Android called SecureOS, that is designed for use by privacy-conscious Android users.
Blackphone 2 is supported by Google's Android For Work program and seamless integration with Google's suite of applications. Aside from that, it is also certified with existing MDM systems, as well as MobileIron, Citrix, Good and SOTI. The phone also adds an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB of internal storage plus a removable MicroSD card slot, a larger 5.5-inch Gorilla Glass display and a 13-megapixel camera, PR News Wire reported.
The device has a 3060mAh quick-charging Qualcomm battery and support for Wi-Fi and 4.0 LE Bluetooth. It is also available in an unlocked version only, wherein buyers would need a Nano SIM to activate it with the GSM-based service providers of their choice, News Factor reported.
Silent Circle, create phones for users who are willing to pay a premium of a higher amount to acquire a more secure alternative to enterprise-friendly phones. Phones from the company are usually used by celebrities and politicians.
