It is widely known that light, sober neutral colors for home interiors are hip this season but if you are a fan of the bold and loud, you can still infuse them into your interiors without making your rooms look like a cross between a bright pink cotton candy and an orange-red junglefowl!
According to Zillow, there are a few particular areas in your home where you can add a splash of bold dark colors to give the room a chic look.
Here is a list of places and things in your home that you can do up with bold neutrals:
Walls
You can do up your walls in a dark bold neutral color given you don't stack the room with equally stark colors. When you have used a dark color on the walls make sure you fill up your room with neutral furniture and accessories. Painting a single wall in your favorite dark color is also a good idea.
Accessories
It is the vice-versa here. If you have neutral wall colors you can definitely decorate the room with bold colors. Cushions, vases, candle tops and even furniture. However, take care to not do it over the top and keep it simple and elegant. Too much bright and bold could hurt the eyes!
Cabinets
Your cabinets could make a bold statement too. Painting cabinets below counters is a subtle way of mixing a bold color into the neutral palette of the home.
Fabric
If you are still not sure about using the colors on the aforementioned places, start by using swatches and shades of your favorite bold colors in fabrics. Use colored fabric that goes well with you walls like, using a peacock blue sheet to go with white/cream walls in the bedroom or just a rug in your favourite bold color.
